Grand opening of “SHARE-Bulgaria” Applied Research Center
On July 23, 2019, a Specialized Applied Research Center SHARE-Bulgaria, established and equipped within the SHARE Consortium, funded by the the National Roadmap for Scientific Infrastructure 2017-2023 (AGREEMENT No E01-162 / 28.08.2018), was opened in the building of the Institute for the Study of Societies and Knowledge at BAS (ISSK-BAS).
The opening ceremony was attended by Mrs. Karina Angelieva, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Yoana Spasova-Dikova, Scientific Secretary of BAS, representatives of the leadership of ISSK-BAS – Prof. Ph.D. Veselin Petrov, prof. Emilia Chengelova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Albena Nakova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valery Lichev, Prof. Dr. Sc. Pepka Boyadzhieva, members of the research team of the project and of the institute board, as well as media journalists.
In her welcoming remarks, Ms. Angelieva emphasized the importance of SHARE ERIC’s scientific infrastructure and the need for consistent and steadfast politicians to convince themselves of the opportunities it offers in analyzing data not only for Bulgaria but placing our country in a European context.
Prof. Yoana Spasova-Dikova, Scientific Secretary of the Cultural and Historical Heritage and National Identity Department, delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of the Chairman of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Acad. Revalski, focusing on the involvement of Bulgaria in international scientific infrastructures, administrative and the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science under the National Roadmap for Scientific Infrastructures 2017-2023, the opportunities for interdisciplinary study of people with disabilities and problems in which young and promising researchers are attracted along with senior scientists.
