Fieldwork of SHARE Wave 10 started in Bulgaria!

In Bulgaria, work has begun on collecting empirical data for the 10th wave of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (“50+ in Europe”). This study is part of the SHARE (Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe) project, which has been conducted every two years since 2004 in 28 countries.

Interviewers from Global Metrics will contact existing members of the SHARE panel as well as new individuals from across the country who will be invited to participate in the study. The interviews will be conducted face-to-face in the respondent’s home between April 2025 and September 2025.

A toll-free telephone number is available for participants to call and receive additional information about the fieldwork process.

One of the key principles of SHARE is the protection of personal data. Participation in “50+ in Europe” is voluntary, and we store personal data confidentially and in strict compliance with both European and Bulgarian legislation.

The Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IPS-BAS) coordinates the implementation of the “50+ in Europe” study in Bulgaria in collaboration with the SHARE-ERIC European research infrastructure consortium.
